Since the beginning of time almost all brides dreamed as little girls of marching up an aisle clothed in brilliant white and being handed off to the man of their dreams, Prince Charming. All that was beautiful at a wedding centered around the bride and her white dress. For throughout the ages all other guests, (including the wedding party’s female attendants) all knew to wear any colour but white to the wedding. White was always traditionally reserved for only the bride. She was to be the only person in white.
Well with the dawn of 2012 that seems to have changed. Some of the upcoming unusual trends being reported in the wedding industry is the extreme us of the colour white. Weddings are still about the bride being covered in white but also everyone one else too, including the bridesmaids, flower girls, mothers of the bride and groom. White for the whole party is one of the wedding trends for 2012! The royal wedding seems to have set the stage for other brides choosing white/ivory as the colour for the bridal attendants to wear. Another emerging trend seems have the décor also all white. From the flowers and candles, through the invites and ending with the grand finale, the reception everything is all white.
There is a distinct emphasis on luxury and detail. The bride will spend money on what is important to her. Now even more than before the focus is on an ethereal, princess and prince fairytale event.
Another trend seems to be more intimate weddings where there is huge attention to detail, extreme luxury and where the guest list is limited to only close meaningful friends as opposed to friends in general including neighbors, coworkers and acquaintances.
A trend has developed from something that was first only really ever seen a dozen years ago but that seems to have taken off in popularity lately. This is the involvement of a couple’s pet (or pets) in the wedding. Some of the ideas to involve pets in the wedding ceremony include have them carry a basket or have a pillow attached carrying the rings. The majority of pets joining in the wedding celebrations are mostly canine as they are more easily trained and dependable. Though there seem to be just as many weddings attended by treasured other critters such as ferrets, lizards, parrots. No too sure what happens at the party. Does Fido after his big moment walking down the aisle get whisked off to a dog spa/boarding kennel for the rest of the day and honeymoon? I was amazed to find out how much is out there about couples including their pets in their wedding celebration. think I will have to do a whole blog on this topic later. Is involving your pet in your wedding something you might consider? Drop me a line and let me know.
